The Sparkles! Story

Sparkles! Christian Academy is located at the Sparkles! Early Learning Academy – Fair Oaks Campus, building upon the Sparkles! tradition of serving Northern Virginia families since 1991.

Sparkles! began in 1991 as a small home daycare started by Sonia Valdizan, built on a simple vision: to create a nurturing environment where children could grow, thrive, and feel safe while separated from their parents. From the beginning, parents could have peace of mind knowing their children were in caring and capable hands. Over time, that home daycare grew into the trusted early learning academy now serving families in the Fairfax community.

For more than three decades, the Sparkles! team has remained committed to supporting families and helping children build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Faith has been the cornerstone of the Sparkles! story from the very beginning, guiding our commitment to nurture children in an environment rooted in care, character, and learning.

In 2026, Sparkles! Christian Academy was established in partnership with Liberty University Online Academy, the accredited online program of Liberty University. Many Sparkles! families had long asked what comes next after preschool. Over time, we began hearing more and more from parents seeking an alternative to public education while also expressing concern about the prohibitive cost of traditional private schools.

Today, Sparkles! continues its mission of helping children grow, learn, and shine brightly in faith, character, and knowledge.
